Hélène de Cartier de Marchienne is a Belgian filmmaker and photographer, born in Arendonk in 1999.
With a diverse skill set spanning directing, screenwriting, editing, and lighting, Hélène has built a multifaceted career in the audiovisual arts.
Her journey in filmmaking began in 2018 when she pursued studies at the prestigious Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts (FAMU) in Prague. She later continued her education at LUCA School of Arts in Brussels, and at the University of Cinema (FUC) in Buenos Aires, deepening her understanding of both the technical and artistic aspects of filmmaking.
Throughout her career, Hélène has gained extensive experience across various sets in Europe, working in different roles and on diverse projects.
Her work spans multiple genres, shifting between fiction, hybrid forms, and experimental documentary. Drawing from a rich blend of influences, she explores the boundaries between narrative and non-narrative, offering audiences unique, evocative cinematic experiences.
